Abstract guidelines

Length limit for abstracts is 350 words. Abstracts longer than this limit will not be considered.

Generally, abstracts submitted for the IB2019 conference should present an outline of a research work as usually recommended in scientific journals. They should not include statements as “data will be presented”, “the results will be discussed”: this is expected, at least for all empirical studies.

In order to make abstracts as informative as possible, please follow a usual structure for contents (with untitled sections):

  • Introduction / Background / Justification
  • Objective(s)
  • Methods used
  • Results obtained
  • Implications / conclusions based upon the results

Key-words: authors must also provide five relevant key words for their work that will help to organize the final program of the conference in case of acceptance.

You can also refer to the following online advise on how to write a good abstract for a conference: Tips for writing a good abstract for a scientific conference

Abstracts will be rejected if they do not comply with the guidelines, but also if the English does not meet basic standards of quality.

Procedure for abstract submission and acceptance

Aknowledgement of the receipt of abstract submission will be sent to the presenting author’s email address immediately upon submission.

Abstracts will be reviewed by members of the scientific committee. After evaluation by the scientific comittee, abstracts may be accepted (without further change required), rejected (without the possibility of resubmission), or sent back for revision. In the last case, the authors will have the opportunity to submit a revised version of the abstract following the comitteed. Note that submitting a revised version of an absract does not warrant its final acceptance.

The presenting authors may also be proposed to change their presentation type (from oral to poster, or reverse) depending on program completion, availability of presentation slots within session, and abstract quality.

An email to notify the acceptance, rejection or revision need of submitted abstracts will be sent latest by February 2019.

Presenting authors will receive all correspondence regarding the abstract status, presentation type, date and time, via the email provided in the abstract submission.
